The 4 C Club

WELCOME

The clothing is collected, sorted, and presented in a department store fashion by an army of volunteers. The recipients are qualified by recognized charitable agencies and Martin County schools that provide children with 4Cs vouchers to shop free for three outfits each including new shoes (currently 2 times a year for children age 5 and older), socks, and underwear. Children’s books, stuffed animals, novelties, and baby items are also available.

Volunteer

While an Executive Director and part-time Store Manager oversee the daily operation of The 4Cs.  All other activities are conducted by volunteers.  These activities include, but are not limited to, store operation, fundraising, and clothing drives.

Donations, Contributions, and Fund Raising

YOU can help the children with your donations of clothing and financial contributions.  Please call us at 772-221-8777 to drop off any donation.  Our store is located at 171 SW Monterey Rd., in the Monterey Plaza, at Kanner and Monterey in Stuart, FL, 34997. Donations are accepted at the store during store hours, however we also have donation/drop off bins at many of the Martin County schools, click here to view bin locations here.

4C’s Literacy Program

Our Store Literacy Program promotes the reinforcement of pre-literacy skills, as well as teaches reading skills to elementary school age children.  In 2007, under the guidance of one of our dedicated volunteers, retired teacher Betty Mulligan, we grew our in-store literacy program by expanding the literacy areas in the store and materials that we could offer to our clients.  In the store we see approximately 1,000 children each year, mainly pre-school age children, who are not on level to begin kindergarten.  In addition, our in-store program works with many children who have not attended any type of pre-k program and have had no early reading intervention.
